Tickets Since 1990
Sprain Brook Parkway to the Taconic Parkway
Here are the tickets for those going up the country house or the Berkshires. The lower Taconic is an interstate class road, with wide medians and easy curves, but beyond Yorktown, it becomes an old school Parkway, with two lanes, no medians to speak of, and on/off ramps that curve 90 degrees. The crowns of the road can be dangerous, and deer are a constant hazard. One Trooper we know refers to them as “big brown speed bumps”. This road is tough for drivers as Law enforcement has a lot of places to hide, and sight lines are very short. Troop K patrols this stretch, with an assist from the Columbia County Sheriff’s office north of Milan. Trucks are NOT allowed anywhere on the Taconic, and we have handled many “low bridge” tickets, notably in Putnam Valley at the Route 301 overpass, when drivers incorrectly get off I 84 and get on the Parkway. This road was designed for 1930’s cars and a 1930’s world and it shows.
Yonkers City Court | Intersection with I-84 (70% of the time there is a Trooper under the 84 overpass) |
Ardsley Village Court | East Fishkill Justice Court (very busy, I 84 and the Taconic) |
Elmsford Village Court | Lagrange Justice Court |
White Plains City Court | Pleasant Valley Justice Court |
Greenburgh Justice Court (busy Court, large town, lots of highway) | Clinton Corners Justice Court |
Mt. Pleasant Justice Court (located in Valhalla) | Stanfordville Justice Court |
Yorktown Justice Court | Milan Justice Court |
The wide open, Interstate part of the Taconic ends and becomes a tight four lane road. | |
Putnam Valley Justice Court | Taghkanic Justice Court |
Kent Justice Court (only one sign on the road identifies this town, and the Court is nowhere near the Taconic) |
